Studio Jean on Expat tv

A camera man and lady walked in to our studio equipped with bags, cables, cameras and microphones one Tuesday in October. They where from the Expat tv and came to interview us as Expats living in The Hague.
It’s quite daunting having to tell your story with a camera in your face and a huge microphone hidden just out of sight. We did very well though, even if we do say it ourselves.
We would like to thank all pupils that joined in and made Studio Jean look great! Take a look and let us know what you think of our interview!

Paintings in the spotlight
Art is not just for hanging in galleries it’s also for your office wall’s or at home. Art in the spotlight is a new concept. Every week Jean presents a new painting at an affordable price which can be bid for on Ebay. Some artists paint a painting a day, but not wishing to put herself under such pressure, she’s opted to paint a painting a week. If you want to be kept up to date with her weekly paintings check the studio window or her site every week. Everyone is more than welcome to come and visit the studio, there’s always plenty of coffee or tea on hand and if you’re lucky even a glass of wine! Tot ziens – Jean and Jocelyn.

Rembrandts' house
For my birthday in December, Ruud took me to Amsterdam for the day and we went to see Rembrandts house. I’ve lived in Holland for more than 35 years and only now got round to seeing it. Having painted the Night Watch and 10 self portraits of Rembrandt, to stand in his own studio was a real blast! We also had a marvellous tour of the house by a very knowledgeable guide, showing us amongst other things Rembrandts bed and where the secret exit is if you wanted to use the toilet at night.
If you want to visit the Rembrandt house, for more information go to www.rembrandthuis.nl
