Aureena's last day

Seventeen meters of spoons!

In May of this year I started painting the inside of a restaurant terrace wall. It's seventeen meters long and fourty centimeters high. The original painting of the spoons is hanging in the restaurant D-light. It's one of the restaurant owners favourite paintings so he commissioned me to paint the inside of the terrace with the same spoons. The painting was first done in acrylic with an oil top coat.

Even though I had to sit there in the blinding sun the end result is worth the effort!

All the way from Norway

Beginning of April, Uliana joined the class for a two week intensive course with me. She came all the way from Oslo in Norway which I thought was pretty cool ! Uliana wanted an intensive course in drawing and painting as she intends to study in the USA next year, she wants to become an interior designer. I must say that I enjoyed her company very much and we had a great time together. In the two short weeks that she was with me, we covered design theory, perspective, colour, basic drawing skills, figure drawing, contrasts and much more.
Unfortunately when it was time for Uliana to leave, the volcano in Iceland decided to errupt and instead of flying home, it took her six trains two buses a ferry and a taxi to get home! Glad to have met you Uliana and keep intouch.

Studio Jean on Expat tv

A camera man and lady walked in to our studio equipped with bags, cables, cameras and microphones one Tuesday in October. They where from the Expat tv and came to interview us as Expats living in The Hague.

It’s quite daunting having to tell your story with a camera in your face and a huge microphone hidden just out of sight. We did very well though, even if we do say it ourselves.

We would like to thank all pupils that joined in and made Studio Jean look great! Take a look and let us know what you think of our interview!
